Horses and Hope

Horses and Hope is an initiative launched by First Lady Jane Beshear and the Kentucky Cancer Program in 2008.  The Pink Stable, a committee of Kentucky horse owners, trainers, jockeys, race track representatives, and others, serves as project advisors.  The mission is to increase breast cancer awareness, education, screening, and treatment referral among Kentucky's horse industry workers and their families.  Each year, special events are held at Ellis Park, Churchill Downs, Keeneland, and Turfway Park to honor breast cancer survivors and to provide education/screening to track workers.

Horses and Hope is supported by the Kentucky Racing Health and Welfare Fund, the Kentucky Women's Cancer Screening Program, and the Kentucky Research and Education Trust Fund.  Tax deductible contributions can be made to the Kentucky Cancer Program-Horses and Hope, 501 E.
