Cervical
Cancer Screening and Diagnostic Protocols
This
offering in our Providers Practice Prevention (PPP)
continuing education series was designed specifically for
Kentucky providers. Funded by the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention through the Kentucky Department for Public
Health, this self-study program features a reference manual
presenting:
- Recent changes in screening guidelines
by the American Cancer Society and the United States Preventive
Services Task Force.
- Changes in terminology for reporting
results of cervical cytology (The Bethesda System - 2001).
- Information on liquid-based cytology.
- Current HPV/HPV DNA testing recommendations.
The Kentucky Medical Association has approved
this offering for two hours of Category 1 CME credit. The
American Academy of Nurse Practitioners has approved this
offering for two contact hours (#0308280). This CE program
is available to practicing physicians, nurse practitioners
and physician assistants in Kentucky who perform cervical
cancer screening/diagnosis.

Treating
Tobacco Use and Dependence
This
video self-study program based on the U. S. Public Health
Service Clinical Practice Guideline: Treating Tobacco Use
and Dependence has been developed especially for Kentucky
providers. Funded by the Kentucky Department for Public Health,
the video addresses key recommendations of the guideline including
effective interventions, and features Kentucky providers offering
testimonials regarding their experience with patients who
use tobacco. The program also includes a toolkit with a Quick
Reference Guide for clinicians, pharmacology recommendations,
office reminder tools, provider counseling aids, patient education
materials and cessation resources for referral.
This
kit is available to all practicing physicians, dentists, physician
assistants, nurse practitioners and dental hygienists and
psychologists in Kentucky for continuing education credit.

special edition of our highly regarded video self-study program,

and opportunities of treating tobacco use during pregnancy.
