KCP strives to support the special needs of cancer patients and families through treatment and survival as follows:
- Pathfinders, regional resource directories that link patients with cancer services and resources in the Area Development District.
- Special Events for cancer survivors like the Pegasus Parade Party and the Kick-Off Dinner for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
- Support Groups for cancer patients.
- Cancer Survivor Celebrations.
- Patient Navigation through the cancer care delivery system.
- Resource Fairs, regional events held periodically that feature resources from local organizations and businesses to support cancer patients and families.
- Weekend Retreats for cancer patients.
- Weekends held quarterly for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients in collaboration with the Junior League of Louisville and funded by Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
- Casting for Recovery, a fly fishing weekend for breast cancer survivors, funded by Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
- Reel Recovery, an annual fly-fishing weekend for men with cancer.
- Mt. Hope, a weekend retreat held annually at Mount St. Francis outside Owensboro for breast cancer survivors.
- Indian Summer, a camp founded by KCP for children with leukemia and other forms of cancer held each summer at Camp Cedarmore in Bagdad.
- Survivor Alert, an initiative to educate young adult survivors of childhood cancer about the long-term effects of their disease, as well as the importance of keeping a complete health history and getting long-term follow-up care.
- Love on a Leash provides therapeutic visits by trained, certified and insured therapy dog teams which visit regularly in hospitals and the cancer center in Somerset.
- Pink Expressions, breast cancer survivors are who have attended a weekend retreat are invited to participate in special art therapy programs 4 times a year in Louisville. Pink Expressions features interactive sessions like yoga, glass blowing, music therapy, dance, and healthy cooking which offer a forum for information exchange, relaxation, and creative expression. The program is sponsored by KCP and the Junior League of Louisville through a grant from Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
- Legal Clinic, KCP partners with the Louisville Bar Association and the Louisville Pro Bono Society to offer free legal clinics two times a year in Louisville. The program is designed to offer assistance to cancer patients and families experiencing legal issues and to provide guidance in creating life planning documents.
