Louisville & Jefferson County
Partnership in Cancer Control
KCP
started the Louisville & Jefferson County Partnership in Cancer Control in
1994 to increase breast and cervix cancer screening among low income women,
particularly African American, in Jefferson County.
This coalition of
organizations has secured funds to provide community education, clinical
breast exams, screenings, mammograms,
and Pap tests. A mobile mammography van travels to public health centers and
community locations to reach high risk population groups. Approximately
3,000 women are served annually by the Partnership. For more information,
call (502) 852-6318.
