Cultivando la Salud
Breast and Cervical Cancer Program
Cultivando la Salud is a new breast and cervical cancer education
and outreach program specifically targeting Hispanic women. The
program uses Promotoras de Salud, or lay health workers, to educate
Hispanic women in the community about the importance of breast and
cervical cancer screening, the availability of low cost screening
services and assist them in navigating the health care system. The
program was originally developed by the National Center for Farmworker
Health, Inc. through funding from the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention and is sponsored in Kentucky by the Kentucky Cancer
Program at the University of Louisville.
For additional information about Cultivando la Salud please contact
the Kentucky Cancer Program at (502) 852-6318.
